FSA โ Mid-Year Changes 2021
Hello ~ย We are excited to announce that we have implemented some valuable changes to our FSA Plan(s) as per the COVID-19 Relief Bills (a.k.a., the Consolidated Appropriations Act and American Rescue Plan Act). Please read further to learn what is available under each FSA plan for the plan year 2021.
An overview of the changes follows below:
- Increased 2021 Contribution Limit for Dependent Care FSA
- Extended Grace Period to 12 months (HFSA & DCFSA)
- Unrestricted Midyear Election & Enrollment Changes (HFSA & DCFSA)
- Dependent Age Limit Increased to 14 (DCFSA)
- Post-Termination Reimbursements (HFSA)

HOW CAN I TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ANY OR ALL OF THESE OPTIONS:
- Determine the course of action you want to take.
- Next, email the information to HR at hr@lafilm.edu and youโre done!
- Should HR have any questions you will be contacted for clarification.
- HR will see that your changes are entered into the Benefit Portal in PlanSource which will then be integrated with your Payroll account.

Location where the student will perform his/her duties:
Hybrid: 10 hours/week. 5 hours weekly onsite at The Sims Library of Poetry (2702 W. Florence Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90043) and 5 hours working remotely use of your own DSLR camera is preferred.
Purpose or role of the position within the organization:
The Community Literature Initiative (CLI) is seeking a Videographer and Video
Editor to be part of the team that creates content to promote our organization
and poetry community on social media. In this role, you will be responsible for
operating the camera and editing videos on a weekly basis. You will, in
partnership with the Marketing team, play a key role in ensuring all aspects of the
video creation are of the highest quality.
Duties and responsibilities associated with the position and how they relate to the purpose or role:
โ Visit Sims Library of Poetry to film videos in person on a weekly basis
โ Edit videos and audio content
โ Organize video shoots and communicate with all parties involved
โ Collaborate and share files with Marketing team
General qualifications for the position:
โ Experience with filming and video editing
โ Ability to coordinate with others to organize a video shoot
โ Some experience working with audio a plus!
โ A team player who is organized and responsive

Ways to Celebrate at Home
- Turn off the lightsย when you leave the room.
- Unplug rechargeable devicesย such as cell phone chargers, digital cameras, etc., even though these devices are in standby mode.
- Plug TVs, DVD players, electronics, and computer equipment into power strips and turn off at night or when you leave to avoid the phantom/vampire power that is constantly lost. Also, screen savers fo NOT reduce energy use by monitors โ switching to sleep mode or manually turning off monitors is always the better energy-saving strategy.
- Switch out incandescent light bulbsย with energy-saving compact fluorescent (CFLs) which us 75% less energy or light emitting diodes (LEDs) which use 90% less energy.
- Open the windowsย for some fresh air when the weather is pleasant instead of running the mechanical heating or cooling system โ better for your health too.
- Turn offย the energy-hogging heated dry cycle on your dishwasher.
- Walk or bikeย to where you need to go. Or just to enjoy the outdoors. Pick up trash while you are at it.
- Do you really need to print that document?ย If so use back side of scratch paper or double side you printing.
- Bring that reusable coffee mug and water bottleย instead of throwing away one each time.
- Celebrate green readsย via a display of books or online web site of resources and sustainable information.
