We want to take the time to celebrate and highlight the achievements from those in our community who identify as Asian American/Pacific Islander. Their contributions to the entertainment industry are far reaching and numerous, and often overlooked. Here are some recent movies and highlighted films, events, podcast and webinars that showcase and broadcast their achievements.

Watch this Webinar: Filipinx Artists

What can people and organizations do to combat escalating acts of racism and xenophobia against Asian Americans? Join the Asia Society Texas Center and Asia Society Southern California to learn what immediate and long-term changes are possible.  joined by Stop AAPI Hate co-founder Dr. Russell Jeung, Georgia State Rep. Bee Nguyen, Compassion in Oakland co-founder Katrina Ramos, and CNN anchor Amara Walker.

From the Los Angeles Times, “Asian Enough” is a podcast about being Asian American — the joys, the complications and everything in between. In each episode, hosts Jen Yamato, Johana Bhuiyan, Tracy Brown and Suhauna Hussain of the Times invite special guests to share personal stories and unpack identity on their own terms. They explore the vast diaspora across cultures, backgrounds and generations, and try to expand the ways in which being Asian American is defined.

On October 8th, 2020, three inspirational women leaders came together to explore the depth of Black and Asian American Pacific Islander experiences and how, as a community, we can overcome racial and prejudicial conflict to create a just, bright and equitable future together.

Watch this Webinar with three Filipinx artists from across the United States. New York-based artist Jeanne F. Jalandoni, Houston-based artist and community organizer Matt Manalo, and San Francisco-based artist Charlene Tan take this time to look at their practices and what has changed their perspectives during lockdown in a conversation with Bridget Bray
