Apple’s macOS 12 Monterey is the latest version of macOS and was announced for official public release on October 25, 2021. We are excited to start using the new software but, at the same time, are extremely cautious. Pro audio and music production users probably should not upgrade until all of their respective third-party software and hardware are officially supported by their respective manufacturers.

Turn Off Auto Updates
We recommend you turn off auto-updates on your Mac until it has been tested with your program’s software. You may still continue to receive notifications to update to the new macOS, but please resist the urge to move forward with the installation as it can affect how your software functions.
Apple released macOS 11 Big Sur on November 12th, 2020. Current students who receive software and hardware from the music and audio production programs may now upgrade their Apple macOS to the latest version, Big Sur.
You Can Turn Off Auto Updates
