Día de Los Muertos with The LAFS Library

Create and decorate picture frames all month long at the Library to be displayed for Día de Los Muertos!

Día de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a two-day holiday that reunites the living and the deceased. Families and friends create Ofrendas (or Offerings) to honor their departed loved ones. The LAFS Library will create an altar to honor your loved ones that will be displayed the week of October 28th at the B2 Lobby.

You can participate by visiting the LAFS Library’s Creation Station (located at the library, B1, 5th floor) to decorate your very own picture frame for your loved one who has passed so it will be featured on the altar. You can bring your own 3.5×65″ picture or you can print it out at the Library for free. We will then gather all of your decorated picture frames and put them on the altar for display.

Remember to check the Ofrendas Altar in the B2 Lobby to celebrate and remember your departed loved ones!
