Program Assistants will support the administrative needs of the department working with the Program Director, Lead Faculty, and Instructors. Duties may including updating and maintaining course materials, instructional resources, and the program Discord. Program Assistants may also work with students, answering student questions and helping to troubleshoot minor problems.

General qualifications for the position:

Program Assistants must have exceptional oral and written communication skills. Program Assistants must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and have successfully completed at least 8 months of online classes. They must be based in CA or FL, work 5-20 hours per week, and have strong study skills and command of remote tools like Zoom and Discord. Program Assistants are expected to display a high degree of professionalism when working with supervisors and fellow students. Candidates for this position must be enrolled in the Writing for Film & Television program, or hold a previous degree in a related field.

Peer tutors support fellow students through one-on-one and group tutoring services delivered through online methods.

Duties and responsibilities associated with the position and how they relate to the purpose or role:

Peer Tutors will meet with WFT students individually and in groups via Zoom. They help clarify course lessons, projects, screenplay formatting, and course content and promote strong study skills. Tutors conduct regularly scheduled one-on-one and group tutoring sessions throughout the term as needed. Peer Tutors do not provide answers to assignments or line-by-line editing. Instead, they work with students to model writing, problem solving, and proof reading strategies, and to explain course-specific concepts in compliance with university academic honesty standards.

General qualifications for the position:

Peer Tutors must have exceptional oral and written communication skills. Candidates should have a very strong command of professional screenplay formatting standards using Final Draft. Peer Tutors must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and have successfully completed at least 12 months of online classes. They must be based in CA or FL, work 5-20 hours per week, and have strong study skills and command of remote tools like Zoom and Discord. Peer Tutors are expected to display a high degree of professionalism when working with supervisors and fellow students. Purpose or role of the position within the organization:

The Live/Events Video Production Work Study Assistant position will report to the Livestream Event/Specialist and work hands-on with a wide range of video productions with an emphasis on live-streaming and Virtual Events. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in camera operating along with content creation, media platforms/formats, signal flow, and pre-production organization.

Applicant must be able to take direction and collaborate in a fast-paced work environment. We are looking for students who have a passion for live/video production and are eager to support every event that happens at The Los Angeles Film School.

This Work Study Position is a great opportunity to get hands-on experience for students gearing towards the industry and should prep them accordingly once they enter the workforce.

Duties and responsibilities associated with the position and how they relate to the purpose or role:

• Assisting creation of graphic/video assets to be used during specific productions
• Help organize video content archives, both physical and digital.
• Take inventory of equipment while keeping it organized in its specific orientation for quick accessibility by the rest of the team.
• Conduct equipment/program tests and shoots in preparation for upcoming events and offload footage for review.
• Execute live video production assignments given by the manager during the event.
• Retrieve and submit proper forms of talent or subjects of productions for legal.
• Participate in production rehearsals in given capacity.
• Work as a liaison between proper departments to ensure a successful shoot.
• Setup/Breakdown equipment before and after productions in a neat and organized manner to be returned to storage.
• Will require some evening and weekend availability.

General qualifications for the position:

• Comfortable around video and audio equipment, specifically camera operating.
• Knowledge of Zoom, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and Photoshop a plus.
• Strong communication and customer service skills (Will be public/talent fronting)
• Can be from any program as long as they have knowledge or experience finessing with video equipment/program.
• Collaborative and able to able to work with a team in a positive work environment.
• Creative, analytical thinker and a fast learner. Will need to be comfortable in a fast-paced work environment.
• Results-oriented, self-motivated, and always looking to improve.
• Comfort managing multiple projects; extremely organized and detail-oriented.
• Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (Apple Keynote is a plus).

• Elevate and assist in evolving the LAFS events brand across multiple platforms including digital and print

• Maintain regular communication and provide timely status updates to the appropriate stakeholders (including but not limited to the LAFS events and creative teams)
