Rapper Abu Hajar, together with other celebrated creative personalities of the Syrian uprising, a Post-Rock musician (Anas Maghrebi), members of the first all female Syrian rock band (Bahila Hijazi and Lynn Mayya), a breakdancer (Bboy Shadow) and choreographer (Medhat Aldaabal), and visual artists (Tammam Azzam, Omar Imam and Diala Brisly), use their art to rise in revolution and endure in exile in this new documentary reflecting on a battle for peace, justice and freedom of expression. It is an uplifting and humanizing look at what it means to be a refugee in today’s world, and offers inspiring and hopeful vantages of a creative response to the chaos of war. Purpose or role of the position within the organization:

About the Role:
As a graphic design work study student, you will assist in designing emails, digital marketing materials, and content that promotes various upcoming events including but not limited to:
• Panels
• Virtual streaming events
• LA Film School Graduation
• Misc. school events

Duties and responsibilities associated with the position and how they relate to the purpose or role:

What you’ll do:
• Elevate and assist in evolving the LAFS events brand across multiple platforms including digital and print
• Create materials that are within the LAFS branding guidelines
• Create email assets for the events and graduation teams or related departments
• Maintain brand consistency throughout all projects
• Maintain regular communication and provide timely status updates to the appropriate stakeholders (including but not limited to the LAFS events and creative teams)

What you’ll bring:
• A portfolio demonstrating visual design
• Faculty recommendation
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
• Understanding of creative design, layout and attention to detail
• Experience with Adobe XD is a plus
• Video editing experience is a plus
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with other designers, developers, and other team members

General qualifications for the position:

The ideal candidate for this position must be able to handle tight deadlines and manage multiple projects at any given time. You will work within a team environment that is heavily focused on collaboration to stay on target with strategy and quality standards.
