If you can’t connect to the App Store on your Mac

  1. Make sure that your device is connected to the Internet.
  2. Update to the latest system version (macOS Mojave (10.14) is not supported with Pro Tools at this time.)
  3. Sign into iCoud– Go to Apple menu () and choose System Preferences > iCloud. Enter your Apple ID. When you sign in, iCloud is turned on automatically. Have questions about Apple ID? Reset your Apple ID password?
  4. Update your payment account information- In a web browser, go to https://appleid.apple.com.
    Enter your Apple ID and password to sign in.​
    Scroll down to Payment & Shipping and click Edit.
    Enter a new payment method, billing address, or both. You can also enter a shipping address for future Apple Store purchases, if you’d like. 
    Click Save.​
  5. Contact apple support at 800–692–7753 or chat.

How to Find the Serial Number on your MacBook

Choose Apple () menu > About This Mac. The window that appears lists your computer’s model name—for example, MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2016)—and serial number. You can then use your serial number to check your service and support options or to find tech specs for your model.

Close your MacBook and turn it over. The serial number is on the underside of the computer, near the regulatory markings.

Please DO NOT upgrade to macOS Catalina just yet!

As some of you may be aware, Apple will soon release the Mac OS 10.15 Catalina. Currently, we cannot verify that all of the school-issued software will work on the new OS release.  Please DO NOT update your OS until we have completed testing for all software which includes post-update. Updating your system before verification of software compatibility could result in missed classwork or homework. We will notify everyone when it is safe to upgrade.

There are many ways to get support for your Apple MacBook Pro. If you are having any issues you may call the Apple Education Support Hotline at 1-800-800-2775 or take your MacBook Pro to any Apple retail store or Authorized Service Center. 

All student MacBook Pros come with the Apple Care Extended Warranty and is tied to the serial number of your computer.
